April wasn’t just busy—it was a battlefield.

Between live editing for Zambian Brewery brands on behalf of an agency and ongoing design work, I found myself in the deep end of a workflow I hadn’t tackled before: taking live content from photographers and videographers, editing it on the fly, and uploading polished pieces within 5–10 minutes.

It was a challenge, but one I welcomed.

Speed has always been part of my toolkit. At The Forge, we pride ourselves on working fast without compromising quality. But this was a different pace—a blur of cables, content, and caffeine. In high-pressure environments like these, you quickly learn the importance of teamwork, communication, and rolling with whatever footage you're given. Sometimes the most “essential” shot isn’t there. Sometimes the vision doesn't line up with the tools in your hand. But the job doesn’t pause. You adapt. You deliver. You move.

After two events back-to-back, I barely had time to breathe before heading straight into a major festival activation. And all of this... right before my birthday. “Tired” doesn’t quite cover it. But I made it through with a stronger sense of what I can handle, and where I want to take this craft next.

Now, as May kicks off, I’m cautiously optimistic. A new opportunity has landed on my desk—one that could shape the rest of my year. A promising app a step away from investor backing is looking to level up to lock it in, and I’ve been tapped to create a mascot and motion identity for the brand. It’s exciting, high-stakes work—the kind that makes this career unpredictable, thrilling, and worth the hustle.

No guarantees. Just risk, time, and effort, forged into something that might become a breakthrough.

For now, I’m catching my breath—but keeping my hammer close. 🔨
